Kishore Shriram Rajhans, a name synonymous with innovation in India’s floriculture sector, began his journey with a strong academic background. A proud alumnus of the renowned Agricultural College, Pune—affiliated with Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri—he completed his Master’s degree in Agricultural Meteorology in 1992. Equipped with deep scientific knowledge and a burning desire to bring technological transformation to Indian agriculture, he set his sights on a field then still in its infancy: plant tissue culture.
His vision was clear—to harness biotechnology to enhance productivity, sustainability, and global competitiveness in floriculture and agriculture. What began as an academic ambition soon evolved into a transformative mission that would place India on the global map of plant tissue culture production.
Building KF Bioplants: From Lab to Global Leader
Mr. Manish Jain (MD and Shareholder of KF Bioplants) supported Shri. Rajhans to explore his leadership to establish a milestone in Plant Biotech. Under Shri. Rajhans’ visionary leadership, KF Bioplants Pvt. Ltd., Pune, has grown into India’s largest plant tissue culture company. Established as a joint venture between the Kumar Group of Pune and HilverdaFlorist B.V. from the Netherlands, KF Bioplants began with a modest dream and a Rs. 70 lakh investment. Today, it stands tall with a turnover of Rs. 247 crores and exports to over 30 countries.
From ornamental to agricultural plants, the company’s tissue culture products are trusted by leading players worldwide. Strategic partnerships with international floriculture leaders like Florist de Quackel B.V. and Floricultura B.V. have further elevated the firm’s status as a powerhouse in plant biotechnology

Behind every great entrepreneur is a strong support system. For Shri. Rajhans, his wife Mrs. Jancy Rajhans has been that unwavering force. She played a pivotal role in setting up the dedicated production pathway, working side by side as both a partner and a pillar in his support. Their children too have carved their own successful paths—daughter Prajakta is a Software Engineer at Deloitte, Texas, while son Prasad has followed in his father’s agribusiness footsteps by founding Janaki Agro Products and Services.
