 Mr. Abhay Brahme ( SDTONICS Pvt. Ltd. )

Life is filled with ups and downs. It is up to us how we accept it. In this interview we take you through the journey of an entrepreneur, Mr. Abhay Bramhe, owner of SDTRONICS now MD of SDTONICS Pvt. Ltd.

Born in a small village in Narayangaon in Pune district Abhay completed his education till Class X in Pimpri. His failure in Class XII compelled him to pursue a two years technical course from Cusrow Wadia College in Pune, where he learnt assembling and repairing of television sets and radio. His quick learning ability and efficiency got him a job in a company called Decibells. He continued to work over there but his quest to learn did not allow him to sit idle. Abhay managed to study and work both at the same time. So his duty hours were 8 am to 5 pm, after which he enrolled himself for a one year diploma course at Naralkar Institute in Pune, which he used to attend between 6 pm and 8 pm.

He has always been socially active and has participated in many social initiatives such as blood donation, sports competitions etc. Since, he was proactive in taking leadership roles he served at the Gala Owners Association (Shopkeepers) as Honorary Cultural and Social Secretary. He later switched his job and joined Godrej Boyce Company. But soon, the company dissolved and he was left jobless.

His impressive personality and people friendly attitude got him a job in a company. This time, it was not a typical 8 am to 5 pm job, but it was a journey towards entrepreneurship. He never dreamt of becoming an entrepreneur but destiny had some different plans for him.

He began working with his friend whose company was registered. This new job was taking good quality components away from old machineries. He used to get money but through his friends account. But soon, his friend passed away. Since, Abhay’s name was never registered in the company, he lost all his money. But a ray of hope was always alive. These ups and downs gave him several management and life lessons. “I learnt we should never work on credit and ensured that there should be zero pendency of work too. Soon I got my first assignment of 5 PCBs from a company based in Bhosari and my life changed. I officially registered my company under the Shop Act in the year 1994 and started with new aspirations and positivity. I started working as PCB assembling and Cable assembling work,” Abhay recalled.

In the year 1997, Messung Systems collaborated with Mitsubishi Products in India. This was the turning point for Abhay which gave him the confidence to work even more carefully and honestly. After 2005, his company started spreading across the country. Today, there are over 250 clients whom Abhay is serving relentlessly with a team of 17 staffers. Industries are now focusing more on factory automation. There are many factories that opt for machine operated technologies which reduces production time and increases productivity.

SDTONICS began producing it in their company. Currently, the company provides customized cables to each of their client. Procuring these cables from foreign countries takes more than 16 weeks and double the cost. But SDTRONICS is making import substitute low cost automation cables and supplies the order within short period.

With a long experience of 25 years in an Automation Cables and it’s accessories field, SDTRONICS provides over 800 different types and lengths of power cables, encoder cables, interface cables and communication cables. Mainly they supply Encoder and Power Cables for almost all PLC & SERVO brands including DELTA, SIEMENS, MITSUBISHI, SCHNEIDER, OMRON, FUJI and PANASONIC

Their potential customers are Mitsubishi Electric, Nichrome, Elmach Packages, Bharat Forge, Delta Electronics, BFW, ITE and various MNC’s in automation field.

He always emphasized on customer satisfaction, quality services and keeping the word. SDTRONICS is system orientated company which offers estimated delivery date in 8 working hours. Abhay’s company has been certified with ISO 9001: 2015 certification. Taking care of his employees, the company organizes birthday celebrations, health check up camps, Yoga class, library etc for the employees.

Abhay’s friendly nature makes him involved in many social activities. He is active member of many networking organizations like BBN, Saturday Club etc.. He helps other entrepreneurs to run their business system oriented.

Business never runs on one man’s aspirations. It’s a team work. Hence, it is important to trust the employees and their abilities. Mr Abhay Bramhe’s accidental entry to the automation and cable field made him a successful entrepreneur and the credit goes to his honesty, hard work and perseverance. ‘A successful entrepreneur is the one who trusts his employees and distributes the work,’ is his ‘Success Mantra’ and this is also his message to the new generation entrepreneurs.
