Meet Monika Gujare Branch Head of Edelweiss Tokio Life.

How did you start your business?
I am into Financial Advisory Business. After competing my graduation, I pursued LLB but due to some family reasons I dropped it and decide of create my own identity. I was always of the thought to help our people around us and hence I started my career as a medical representative to promote affordable medicines. I was earning but my dream of contribution towards society was still far away. Later, one of my friend introduced me to the business of insurance advisory & financial protection and also appraised me how me can make a vast difference in the lives of a family by offering them our financial advisory for protection against financial uncertainty. I very closely worked on the assignment and also felt the self-satisfaction for working on a larger cause. And since last 15 years I am building this business and also extended this opportunity to many team members who are now successfully running this financial advisory business.

Can you give us a brief introduction about your brand/company?
I am associated with Edelweiss Tokio life Insurance company that has business spanning across financial sector promoted by Mr. Rashesh Shah and IIM alumni. Everyone has dreams and aspirations for their future that they want to achieve. Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance Company Limited mission is to make these goals a reality. How do you differentiate your business in the market? (USP)
Identifying customer financial need and providing solutions to achieve their financial goals. A unique process of Vijaypath leads to a precise assessment and building a plan to convert financial dreams into reality with a disciplined approach.

How do you keep yourself updated on your business?
My company provides daily update about the industry and business news and apart from that I keep myself abreast about the latest developments through insurance journals, periodic updates from IRDAI, customer surveys and developing trends through financial magazines. 

Benefits of your services to the society?
By virtue of us being alive, each one of us carry the risk of 3 D – Death, Disability and Disease. These risks adversely impact our financial goals and the family runs into a financial crisis or have to witness their financial dreams crumble due to financial stress because mostly these risks are carried by individual families. Our services ensure that these risks are transferred from individuals to the insurance company and the family is shielded from the adversity of financial crisis in case any of these risk is encountered. 

What advice would you give to someone just starting their own business?
I will refer my experience and suggest that if you believe in a concept and idea and you strongly feel that this is what I wish to do, then believe in yourself and give your best to realize it. Keep yourself updated about the industry, regulations and evolving needs of the customer. My mantra for success – Consistency x Persistency x Sufficiency in Efforts
