Women entrepreneurship is gaining importance in India due to the wake of globalization and liberalization. “Not to be a home-maker but to looked upon as job making entrepreneurs” is the goal of women in our community now. The increasing presence of women in business field as entrepreneurs has changed the demographic characteristics of business and economic growth in the country.

With a focus of self-independence and the desire to own a business, I Mansi Nagarkar Jadhav, Director of Odyssey Voyage India LLP started my journey as an entrepreneur. I have gained a working experience of 28 years in the field of sales and marketing. My experience prior to starting my own travel company has been as a project lead in Sakal NIE (Newspaper in education) and Camlin, where I focused more on conceptual marketing.

Prior to starting this venture, I started visiting travel exhibitions, meeting B2B agents, I studied about what it takes to organize a tour through reading about it online, in magazines, tour brochures. Me and my daughter Shivani started this venture together in January 2017. Like any other business there have been many push and pull factors while starting this company.  But what kept us going was the desire to create a mark amongst the people.

The concept was to create awareness about various cultures in India emphasizing on the heritage of the places; knowing that every place has a history. We have been  organizing customized tour packages as well as group tours, domestic and international travel packages. Our most talked about tours have been “ Srilanka Ramayana tour “, “Leh-Ladakh bike tour”, “Himachal hiking tour”, “Anjarle Turtle festival” along with many others. From the reviews and feedback’s from our clients, we realized that not many companies in the market are offering “Spiritual tourism” which on the contrary we were ; this is mainly what helped us get our clients. Spiritual tourism brings inner peace and happiness amongst people giving a purpose to their travel. It protects and promotes the local cultures, their natural gifts, art and it builds understanding of cultures.

My daughter Shivani, who is a teacher has been working abroad for the past 5 years. She keeps me updated about the international travel market. In  our journey throughout we have had the pleasure of working with wonderful people, historians, indologists and our clients who believed in us, who have helped reach Odyssey Voyage India LLP where it is today. We are now associated with the “Chintan Group” under the travel tag Odyssey-Chintan. The pandemic affected us all worldwide and like many others we experienced loss, moreso as our journey had just began. But despite the odds we are now planning to start inbound travel where our main focus is to create cultural awareness, as we Indian are gifted with such a rich heritage of our motherland India.
