This constant exhortation from Dr Ashok Lendwe, one of India’s foremost Homeopaths changed the way his son Dr. Abhijeet Lendwe saw diseases in his patients and tried to cure them be it during his student days or be it in the present at their clinic at Sangli or Pune.

In the year 2015, the clinic was shifted to its present location at Vishram Baugh in Sangli given that the earlier location was found insufficient to cope with the overwhelming stream of visitors approaching them from all corners of the country be it from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttaranchal or Gujarat to name a few states. Within Maharashtra itself, they get patients regularly from Pune, Nagar, Satara, Karad, Islampur, and practically the whole Sangli district. It doesn’t stop here! Their cures have found loyal followers even in places as far as Australia, America, the UK (London), Norway, Oman, Dubai, Kenya, Baharain and Canada!

As for the new location, it has all modern facilities like a proper OPD room, video conferencing facility, waiting room and reception, proper queuing systems to bring the most critical clients first, and a streamlined system of treatment. With a staff of 4 which includes Dr Ashok and Dr Abhijeet, two qualified assistants, pharmacists and reception staff, Omkar Clinic continues on its path of turning around lives of those who have all but given up! To cater to an ever-growing stream of patients, Omkar Clinic also has a presence in Pune where Dr Ashok Lendwe is available on the 2nd Friday of every month right from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening- despite his 66 years of age!

For the Father-Son duo who share more than the obvious father-son relation, every attempt to treat patients should be perfectly within the purview of classical Homeopathy as was espoused by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, Homeopathy’s founder on whose birthday on the 10th of April they not only give consultation but also dispense medicines to villages and surrounding areas. They have promoted Homeopathy from a third opinion source to a second to the first where the most difficult of cases have been treated most effectively. Despite this, they are in no hurry to open more OPDs given that medication under homeopathy is never standardised and depends upon the patient’s individual characteristics and condition which necessitates thorough study which may get hampered with the spread of OPDs. A second OPD when it comes up, may most likely be at Pune.

With the Clinic at Sangli flourishing for over four decades today, it has garnered its fair share of admirers and die-hard patients mostly by word-of-mouth (up to 99% cases!) publicity. These include entire families which consist of three generations of firm believers in the Lendwes’ powers to cure. There are also those who visited once and never again visited for the same problem for years but did so for some other reason or while accompanying someone else! And then there are those who visit them despite not being inconvenienced by issues- just to be in their benevolent presence. As for their foreign patients, a Doctor in London apparently has this open offer that they can open their OPD there and visit them once every month! If these weren’t enough Dr Abhjijeet Lendwe does get his share of attention in the form of poems written thanking him for curing the poet!
