Power of Gemstones in Personal Growth

Dr. Jayshree Panjikar

From a scientific perspective, gemstones continuously emit radiation. Certain gems such as ruby, yellow sapphire, and emerald are doubly refractive, meaning that a single ray of light entering them splits into two polarized rays, each carrying unique energy and wavelength. These radiations subtly interact with the human nervous system, and when the correct natural gemstone is chosen, it may enhance emotional stability, confidence, and overall well-being attributes that contribute directly to personal and professional growth.

However, authenticity is paramount. The global gemstone market is now saturated with synthetic and treated stones that look identical to natural gems but lack their intrinsic properties. For instance, a so-called “ruby” may in reality be red garnet, spinel, tourmaline, or a lab-grown synthetic treated by beryllium diffusion or lead-glass filling. Such stones, though visually appealing, offer no genuine energetic or therapeutic value. This is where scientific testing and certification become indispensable.

In today’s market, lab-grown diamonds created through HPHT or CVD processes have become increasingly common. While they share identical physical and chemical characteristics with natural diamonds, they differ in origin, rarity, and long-term value. Similarly, moissanite and cubic zirconia are often sold under misleading labels. Only certified laboratory testing can safeguard consumers and uphold the integrity of the gem trade.

Certification today is not merely documentation it is a scientific assurance of authenticity, trust, and legacy. It preserves the gem’s identity, confirms its origin, and ensures that future generations inherit verified and valuable jewellery assets.
