Jankalyan Blood Centre was established in 1983 with a vision of serving needy patients with
safe blood. Jankalyan Raktapedhi Trust (A Public Charitable Trust) owns the blood centre
located at Swargate, in Pune. We largely serve Pune region and periphery but also other
areas of the state and nation. Blood needs processing and hence service charges too. Blood centres charge patients as guided by Government. We waive off charges for poor patients and thalassemic children. This is our way of serving the nation. The society stands with us strongly.
Our association for blood donation camps includes multinational companies in IT, manufacturing, banks, colleges, housing societies, social organisations and many more. Our
charity is above Rs. 65 lakhs annually and is likely to rise in future. ‘Institutional Award 2012’ was given to Jankalyan by Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology (ISBTI). Maharashtra State AIDS Control Organisation (MSACS) awarded us as best performing Blood Centre in 2013 – 14. We were honoured by Gramdevata Award by Tambadi Jogeshwari Trust, Pune. Maharashtra Government awarded Jankalyan in 2022 for Best Humanitarian Service in COVID.
Our quest for quality continues as a part of the journey. Quality Management System is
imbibed since inception and is strengthened by NABH accreditation. (National Accreditation
Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) We are pioneers of many safety and quality
processes in the field of Transfusion Medicine.
What is your USP
Ace technology and charity (seva) both are manifested under one roof. Quality and safety of
blood is superlative. For the poor, it is at notional charges or free of cost at times. No blood
request is turned back for lack of money.
Blood donations and financial donations, both are purely voluntary.
We utilize both with utter transparency and gratitude. We are a people’s blood center.
Benefits of your services to the society
Jankalyan annually conducts 300+ camps with around 20000 blood donations, supporting
30,000+ patients (by component-separation and safe processing). We are the blood partner to more than 200 hospitals including apex corporate hospitals as well as Government
hospitals and small nursing homes. We support 20 blood storage centres nearby.
Jankalyan is a medico-social project hosting global technology and automation for blood
collection, component-separation, blood-grouping, cross-matching with patients’ sample,
cold storage, blood safety by screening for diseases like HIV, Hepatitis B and C (ELISA and
NAT), removal of harmful white cells from donated blood (leucodepletion), platelet donation
on cell separator machine, irradiation of blood for cancer and transplant patients and many
more intricacies to provide safest possible blood. Thousands of patients undergoing
treatment for cancers, dialysis, thalassemia, liver and bone marrow transplants, cardiac
surgeries, emergency operations, pregnancy, delivery, newborns are supported regularly by
prompt service of safe and quality blood.
