Maharashtra Labour Welfare Act, 1953 is an act to provide for the constitution of a Fund, for the financing of activities to promote the welfare of labour in the state of Maharashtra for conducting such activities and for certain other purposes.
Objective: Providing welfare services for workers or worker families.

- Literature Thematic Program
- Academic Planning
- Health Care Plan
- Sports Competition
- Board Awards
- Board Welfare Activities
Welfare Centre- Kamgar Kalyan Kendra’s are made by the state government at various cities in Maharashtra like, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur etc. The money so taken as a contribution from the organization, is used for the welfare of weaker section (workmen)

- Applicable in Maharashtra-For other states may have different norms
- Applicable to all companies having more than 5 employees
- Contribution to be applicable is as mentioned below:-

- Half Yearly Return is mandatorily submitted in the A1 Form with the contribution by way of online payment
- To be submitted after every six months- I.e. at the end of June and December
- Manager and above level employee is not to be covered.
- If the half yearly return is not done on time then Government may recover the interest/penalty from the employer.
