His corporate style of work is influenced by his time spend as a Design Engineer at Forbes Marshall. Along with his job, he entered into the world of Financial Planning in 1989, which was all out of curiosity and without any formal training. His experience as an Insurance Advisor in the initial days of his career, gave him great strength to move ahead in this journey. He soon achieved all major levels of insurance qualifications. This was encouraging, as he started working more rigorously to better himself.

His aim was to achieve the ‘Million Dollar Round Table’ (MDRT) – the prestigious, but also difficult, international qualification for Life Insurance adviser’s which would rank him among the top financial advisers worldwide. In 2006, Ram enrolled for training at Institute of Excellence and within three months, he completed his first MDRT target. He was able to participate in the MDRT conference at Toronto, Canada in 2008 and met some of the most successful men and women in the business. After returning back from the conference, he decided to dedicate himself as a full time Financial Planner. Although he is the first entrepreneur in his family, his wife strongly backed his decision and encouraged him to do his best.

Within the next few year of his start as an independent entrepreneur, he multiplied his business 3 times and bagged another prestigious International qualification – ‘Court of the Table’ (COT). He was also able to secure his place in the highest ranking position in LIC- ‘Corporate Club Member’. To put this achievement into perspective, he was amongst the top 150 out of 12 lakh advisors in India. There are only four corporate club members in Pune and Ram is one of them. He is the first COT member of Shivaji nagar Branch. Ram is also a member of (BNI) Business Network International & ELITE Group of Saturday Club.

This has been a brief background of Ram’s entrepreneurial journey so far. He currently has a staff of 8 professionals in his corporate office at Pimple Nilakh. He has a wide range of clientele –from professionals, corporates to NRI’s and manages more than 2300 customers.

“I’m good at networking and public relations. Over a period of time, I have established a strong relationship of trust and respect with my clients. This has resulted in a situation where a lot of my client meetings are closed in my office itself. I do not need to chase customers to offer my services,” he says.

Always eager to learn, Ram had recently participated in an international conference held in Los Angeles and plans to attend another one in Miami later this year. The trainings he attends all over the world gives him an edge which allows him to deliver maximum value to his clients.

Besides his professional life, Ram is a member of Rotary Club and Happy Thoughts. He is also a motivational speaker. “I also love trekking & singing. I try to balance both my professional and my family life.”

The second generation of Nayar’s has entered into the business. His son Mr. Rohit Nayar, B.Tech Mechanical and MBA in Finance and Marketing is now assisting him in the business.

“There is no shortcut to success. Entrepreneurship must be in your blood and heart. You have to immerse yourself in the business you want to be successful in.
