Manasi Bidkar of Melcon Company is a person of opportunities. She marched ahead taking every opportunity coming across her path. After completing her engineering graduation, she initially worked for a couple of companies. Thereafter an opportunity to initiate business was offered to her by her in-laws. Quality, hard work, and utilization of opportunities placed her at a substantial level in entrepreneurship.

Every woman is a source of tremendous energy. In our culture, we often worship her in various forms with various names. She has got many distinguished abilities which are very useful in the business for every entrepreneur. Manasi is a nice example of what a woman can do if she is given an opportunity to exhibit her talent.

Manasi is basically from Pandharpur. Her father was in government service. She has had the ability to see things with a microscopic view since her childhood. Her grandfather was also in the job at the municipal corporation. He was so energetic, that he perceived his Master’s degree in Sanskrit at the age of 52 while continuing in service. He was a great follower and researcher of Dnyaneshwari, penned by Saint Dnyaneshwara.

It was a big house named ‘Gurjarwada’ where she lived with her large joint family. In such an atmosphere she completed her school education. After that, she got admission to CWIT at Pune. After admission, some practical problems emerged. As a girl, it was not secure to send her to a hostel alone as per her parent’s thinking. Finally, this issue was sorted and she started living with her brother in Pune.

After her Engineering degree, she went to the office of employment exchange where she registered her name, just like other common job seekers. She got a job. Her first job was with proprietary company engaged in power electronics products. In those days salary packages for engineers were very low; still she managed to stick up to the job for some period.

Her husband, Manoj was having own proprietary firm. It is an interesting story. Once the level controller of the water tank in the society went wrong, Manoj resolved that issue with his skills. At this instance, Manoj decided not to go for any job and to start manufacturing beepers for two-wheelers, Water level controllers Indicators etc.

Her father-in-law insisted her starting her own business instead of going for a job. With the help of In-laws, she started her own proprietary company manufacturing and supplying UPS, emergency light, stabilizer. All these products were energy saver, the need of Nation. This business was small but had tremendous potential in it. In this company, Manasi started focusing on each and every things like, PCB assembly, testing, packaging, and other things. Her father-in-law helped her with an amount of 40 thousand and the company started growing steadily.

Initially, the company work was done from her own home. With the company’s growth, it was shifted to the garage, and then finally it was shifted to an office at Mukundnagar. Now she has around 6000 sq. ft. of manufacturing set up with well equipped design lab for in house testing verification.

The support from in-laws was the key factor behind the progress of her business. She started manufacturing different products. The product of Electronic Ballast was a grand success and appreciated widely. Experiments with such products are still going on.

While roaming through an exhibition, she realized that LED Drivers has great potential as a business and has a worldwide demand. Hence she decided to start manufacturing LED drivers. At this point, both the preparatory companies named Madhavi and Lexus were merged together to form Melux control gears Pvt. Ltd. As of today, Manasi with her Melux company has 48 LED models and 12 SMPS models based on various wattages. Melux also manufactured a UV Sensitizer machine approved by DRDO. In 2016-17 LED drivers were exported to Spain and UK. Melux has an ISO 9001-2015 quality certificate. It has prestigious certificates like ZED, WASH, BIS. It is also expecting to get the ENEC mark shortly. Melux has exhibited in various national and international trade fair.

Melux has exhibited its quality excellence at the national as well as international level. It has bagged the Excellent Award at the 7th National Conclave on 5S. This conclave was organized by the Quality circle forum, Hyderabad. Melux uses Problem-solving techniques and also looking forward to acquiring Lean management.

Manasi is an esteemed member of various business chambers. Through writing articles in various magazines and by participating in international exhibitions she exposes her brand to the world.

Manasi is the chairperson of MCCIA’s women entrepreneurs’ forum. She uses this position to resolve issues faced by women entrepreneurs. She is also a member of the syllabus committee board at the CWIT College, Pune, and a Board member at MECF Electronic Cluster. She is awarded by various institute as leading women. Some of prestigious awards are MCCIA women entreprenuer award,Udyog Ratna,Udyougshree, Udyogini, Sanjiwani, Magnatic Maharashtra, Maharashtra Udyogini and many more….

Every employee is a part of Melux family. Employee’s hand holding is done through Training programs, appreciation of good work, and other benefits.
