This is the story of dream, courage, and dedication. Reshma Mulla; a girl from a Muslim community living in a small city in Satara moved to Pune after marriage carrying her father’s dream. Her journey to an established entrepreneur is truly mesmerizing.

After marraige her story starts from a small city in Satara. She was a very simple girl doing household work. This Muslim family was progressive in spirit. Her father had a dream that his daughter should become an entrepreneur and provide jobs to others. This was not impossible but a bit challenging.

Particularly, in the Muslim community, women are dominated. Overall thinking about women is orthodox. But this seed sown by her father, made Reshma visualizing big dreams. After setting down at Pune, she started a small business with a Fly press. She was a commerce graduate and her husband had completed NCTVT training. Initial times were hard and testing. Due to a lack of technical knowledge, there was ample ambiguity in deciding business. In such times a Godfather entered her life. He was his father’s friend. He inspired her and helped to build tremendous courage for the future. With this energy Reshma’s Mahek Industries, manufacturing vehicle parts took a leap ahead.

There are two leaders behind the success of Mahek Industries. Besides Reshma, her husband is one of the pillars of this business. Actually, at the initial stage of the business, he was not focused. He utilized very little of his time for the business. This created a heavy burden on Reshma’s shoulders. She was in need of her husband’s support for the business. She was trying to give her 100% but due to family responsibilities was unable to give the fullest of her. Then one fine day they both enrolled for life coaching. This training changed the course of their life. This change was possible because of her brother Ashok Salunkhe who always motivated & supported her for doing the best in her life. There was a great break through when she got vendor codes for Thyssenkrupp and Tata Motors for SHIM.

Thyssenkrupp’s first order was worth Rs.7.5 Lacs. It was a proud moment as well as a challenge. This order was completed in 15 days instead of one month. This built confidence within the business and outside in the vehicle part manufacturing fraternity

Then Mahek industries focused on press component, sim products and marketing of other products and the equation of growth kept enhancing day by day. Reshma says, “It is nothing but the result of consistent hard work. Thyssenkrupp, valient & Parc Robotics has relied on our quality. We never did any kind of canvassing as it was never needed.”

Most of the companies have appreciated the work and delivery of Mahek Industries. Vibs India Pressings, Park Robotics and Automation Pvt. Ltd., and a few other companies have given appreciation letters. Many of the companies have categorically appreciated saving in cost, man-hours due to timely and perfect delivery by Mahek Industries.

Today Mahek Industries has a team of good employees and a customer base of around 50 companies. Reshma looks after the in-house activities and her husband takes care of marketing and other outdoor activities. The goal is to provide employment to at least 1000 people by 2030. Reshma says, If you start chasing money nothing will change but if you focus on your work everything including money will follow.

Mahek Industries donates some part of the income regularly to the CRY foundation. It is also a patron of Renuka children’s home. This social organization takes care of orphans. Every time someone comes to seek a donation, Mahek Industries supports them without bothering about their caste, religion, and ethnicity.

“It hurts a lot when close ones leave us exploiting our resources. This was a panic experience with regards to a couple of employees but we started working with new zeal every time,” says Reshma. She further says that we have 100+ percent faith in you, these words by the customer really give goosebumps. The key factor behind Mahek Industries’ publicity and growth is nothing but mouth publicity, which is a reaction of our ethos, values, and relations, Says Reshma.

Reshma’s mother is her guide after her father’s death. she is helping the family a lot. She takes care of household work, looking after the children, and other domestic stuff. This gives freedom to work for long hours to Reshma and her husband. Every Thursday, both of them dedicate their time to the family.

Reshma’s daughter is studying in 10th while her son is in the 7th std. They did not want to spoon-feed their children’s. As per their philosophy, they want their children to be good humanbeing first & to learn by experience and contribute to the development of our nation.

Reshma is the first-ever graduated child from her fraternity. She completed her degree from Saint Meera’s College, Pune. Reshma bows down to her heavenly father, and one of his friends; who guided her at right time as her godfather. She says I might have nobody if someone didn’t has poured courage in me. Hence, I want to make the same thing with at least a few of the women as my gratitude to my father, godfather, and society.
