In every sense, the quintessential HR person, Girija Sachin Ghole-Deshpande eats, breathes, and sleeps HR Processes (NOT RECRUITMENT) so much so that even her two-person enterprise (four by the end of 2022) works with clockwork precision on work and deliverables.
And deliver she has! Her baby (besides, Sharrv her a football-loving son of 11!) EYES HR Process Consultancy, which came about smack in the middle of the pandemic in October 2020, has 11 clients whose HR processes she has helped straighten and strengthen. These aside, their main aim is HRMIS and POSH (Prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace) that see them set up processes from recruitment to retirement, including confirmation, appointment, performance appraisal, training need identification, training, and final settlement. Quite a list!
With experiences of over a decade and a half with Pune’s known entities, she’s a consummate professional with the right qualifications, including a BCS and Masters in Personnel Management (MPM) from Pune University (today SPPU). HR in Pune thus associates her with RESPECT, short for Responsibility, Enhancing Skills, Persistence, Enlightened Decision Making and Accountability.
That said, what drives her is the overriding intent to help enterprises, and more so the micro and small enterprises, besides new-age startups to reduce attrition, retain talent, and work towards their goals. Her keen observation in post-pandemic times is that entities are interested in higher sales and market share with little attention to other facets and departments. She says this leads to attrition of good talent and replacement by those either not matching up or taking time to fit in. In sum, this she says is detrimental to the organization’s growth and existence.
A professional with a heart, she holds Sudha Murthy, Chairperson of Infosys Trust, as her idol, and like her, wants to help the poor and the dispossessed. To this end, 10% of their yearly earnings are earmarked. It doesn’t stop there. Her thoughts these days is toying with the idea of a website for rural talent looking for employment and a source of income. The future shall see EYES HR Process Consultancy delve deeper into creating awareness of POSH, gender-neutral policies, and most of all, of diversity in its most diverse sense, which includes creating space for the physically and mentally challenged.
A district-level kho-kho player from a small hamlet in Solapur district, life has shown her every shade. Speaking of shade, the biggest these days is her joint family of seven and her significant other half, Sachin Ghole employed with Pune’s most known automobile MNC. Leaving her job for various reasons, including her son’s football aspirations (that include his dreams of winning the Football World Cup for India!), she finds strength in family and close friends.
A decade and a half of employment and a successful recent stint in entrepreneurship, her success mantra for newbies is to:
- Build relations,
- Keep a Positive Attitude
- Practice time management
- Be action-oriented and,
- Never procrastinate
